A Young Lady Quits Drinking, Goes Through Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms, And Makes Up Her Mind To Get Alcohol Treatment Kayla is a thirty-five-year-old benefits manager who has been drinking in an irresponsible and hazardous manner since she and her boyfriend severed their relationship. Apparently her medical practitioner had phoned ahead and informed the emergency room personnel to expect Kayla because when she got to the hospital, she was met by two emergency room employees who immediately told her to sit down in the wheelchair they had with them. An emergency room doctor gave her some meds to reduce the intensity of her flu-like symptoms and also administered some medications to help get rid of the alcohol that was still in her system. After a few hours, Kayla was transferred from the ER and transported to the recovery room. After she was in recovery for roughly three-and-a-half hours, Doctor Novak, an alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse specialist, came to see her. He took his time and explained in laymen's language that Kayla had gone through alcohol withdrawal symptoms when she quit drinking due to the fact that she had become addicted to alcohol. He then discussed the fact that with excessive drinking on an everyday basis, the person's brain over time gets acclimated to the alcohol so that it can function in a "routine" manner. When the person then abruptly abstains from drinking, it can be stressed, the brain takes action by bringing forth alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Not only this, but her healthcare practitioner also clearly explained the various alcoholism symptoms that an individual who is alcohol dependent usually goes through as the disease gets progressively worse as time goes by. Fortunately for Kayla, it was verified that she was in the earliest stage of alcohol dependency and, as a consequence, she obtained a good diagnosis for a total recovery if she will get the alcohol addiction rehabilitation she needs. Kayla told the medical practitioner that she will do whatever it takes to get sober and to re-establish her life and her health.
